Kalmunai Mental Health Association

We are the executive members of Kalmunai Mental Health Association decide to build up our staffs/ members, knowledge, experience and skills in mental health. This is one of our objectives.

Mr.Kamal

He is a child probation officer in Kalmunai and a counselor, who is selected for one year Diploma In Child Mental Health course in Colombo university. It is a weekend course, He wants to travel every weak from Kalmunai to Colombo. IMHO –USA support him via KAMHA for his higher education, we provide 50,000 SLR for his education. He bonded with KAMHA for four years to support the child mental health and capacity building with our staffs.

Mr.Sivaganaseelan

He is a senior nursing officer in mental health Base hospital Kalmunai. Sri-lankan Colleague of Psychiatrists collaborates with WHO and VSO started a training programme to the nurses in Community Mental Health. Training was started in National Institute of Mental Health in Angoda. The course leanth is 2 months.
Mr.Seela receved 10,000 of his training with the help of IMHO-USA via KMHA.
